To get into vet school everyone has to undergo an interview. After you have sent in your UCAS application, if vet schools like the sound of you, they will ask you to an interview. All universities have different processes for this – some are a more traditional sit down with the interviewers, some are like speed-dating and some are even practical. Try and have a research into which type of interview the universities you apply to do before you go to an interview so you know roughly what to expect and aren’t too thrown!
The most important thing to know and remember for interviews is that they don’t expect you to know everything – they want to see how you work under pressure and use problem solving to react to a situation you are unsure of. They also want to see whether you will fit in to their vet school - so make sure your personality shines through and you keep smiling!
Remember - interviews run from when applications are submitted (mid October) through to March, so don’t be disheartened if you do not get one straight away. Some people have them as late as March and still get offers!
